Hall out, Hishon in

The 1st selection in this past NHL Entry Draft, Taylor Hall, will not be participating in Team Canada's World Junior Development camp. The camp will be held August 4-7. Since Hall will not be participating in camp, and given the fact that he will most likely be playing in Edmonton this season, he will not be eligible to play for Team Canada during the tournament.

With the departure of Hall, Hockey Canada had to fill his spot with another forward. They chose to go with Avs 1st round pick from this past draft, Joey Hishon. Not too bad for a fellow that no one seemed to have heard about when he was taken in the 1st round eh? Hishon will be one of 25 forwards hoping to make Team Canada.

Hishon will not be the only Avs prospect taking part in the camp. Fellow 2010 draft pick, Calvin Pickard, will be one of 4 goaltenders trying to make the squad. On defense, 2009 draftees Stefan Eliot and Tyson Barrie will be battling it out with 16 other defensemen. It will be fun to see how the Avs future stars do in camp and hopefully they will make the team.
