Avs sign Yip and FA Ben Walter

Adrian Dater is reporting that the Avs have come to terms with restricted free agent forward Brandon Yip. The deal is for 2 years. Yip will make $700k this season and $750k in 2011-12 for a cap hit of $1.45 million. I figured Yip would've received more than that since the Avs have a ways to go to reach the cap floor but I guess they'll get to that after Peter Mueller and Chris Stewart get signed.

The Avs also announced they have signed forward Ben Walter from the NJ Devils. He spent last season with the Lowell Devils where he had 58 points (22G 36A) in 78 games. I figure this to be another depth signing for Lake Erie.
